What is worship?

A worship service at Salem Avenue Baptist Church of Rolla is a time when our community gathers to worship God through music, prayer, giving, Scripture reading, communion, and preaching. Folks at Salem Avenue Baptist Church of Rolla all participate in various ways with many opportunities to serve and become a part of the community of faith.

On most Sundays, you have two options for worship. Our traditional service takes place at 8:30 A.M. This musical part of the worship service is driven by the great hymns of the faith, piano, organ, and a worship leader. Our contemporary service takes place at 11:00 A.M. The musical part of this worship service is driven by multiple instruments (like keyboard, drums, guitars, bass guitar) and led by multiple singers.

The preaching message is the same in both services.

Periodically throughout the year we combine worship services and meet at 10:30 A.M. Please look for announcements regarding this. Any announcements in this regard will be posted on the website and on the church Facebook page.

What should I wear?

Clothes! Seriously, there is no dress code here, other than just wear clothes. You’ll see people in blue jeans, a few in suits, some in shorts, and others somewhere in between all those things.

What about my kids?

We have quality children's ministry during Sunday school for ages 3 and up. For kids under three we have a great nursery staff that will take wonderful care of your child. During the worship service, kids aged 3 through 5th grade will have an opportunity to attend children’s church where they will learn with other kids their age about a lesson from the Bible.
